Room Updates...

Wellllll, not as far along as I wish we were, but we are working in the right direction.

Last weekend, with the help of my lovely Momma, we deep cleaned the house. We really went for it! Windows done, every surface inside and out washed down, doors, spot washed walls, light fixtures, under beds, all decor, the couch, washed every textile in the house, it was a two day event to say the least, all while working around two puppies, a toddler and a husband. One of my favourite things to do during a deep clean is to purge, reorganize and wipe out all interior drawers, so we did that as well. Honestly, it was a LOT of work to say the least, but it was well worth it. I am glad to have that part completed.

Jax’s room is good, I added a large wicker basket to put his stuffed animals in to, which freed up three of the white bins on the shelves in the corner of his room, I added a toy bin at ground level for easy access for him and he has been really enjoying having playtime on his new washable, soft carpet in his bedroom. The extra space in the bins allowed me to organize everything better and more efficiently. I went through all his clothes and got rid of anything too small, again wiping out his dresser and reorganizing. There are a few things I might transfer out of his room once we finish baby girls room such as the mini fridge, but I’m not sure if we will have enough space, so I am going to wait and see, it might just need to stay in Jax’s room.

I have to go to Winners and Ikea to pick up the last few items for baby girls room. Once I have those, we will move the office stuff down to the basement and start to organize our little girls room. This time around I am trying to be very intentional and mindful with purchases. I think I bought every single thing I read about, saw on Pinterest lists or Mom Instagram videos, thinking we “needed” it for Jax and it honestly was very wasteful. We live in a society of amazon prime delivery, so if we are missing things I can easily get them for baby girl along the way.

As I mentioned in my previous post, with Jax he was our first, we had a lot of time to plan and put together his room, this time around I have a vision in my mind and although it isn’t exactly what I wanted, it is intentional, it will be organized and I think work the best for now for our growing family.
